Terms of use

Welcome to The Book Collection, run by Nestun Digital (ENK). By creating an account or using the app you agree to these terms. They're short, and we've tried to keep them friendly.

Your account

• You need to be 13 or older to use the app.
• Keep your password to yourself; you're responsible for what happens on your account.
• You can delete your account at any time under Settings → Account & security.

Your content is yours

Your books, notes, ratings and photos belong to you. You give us permission to store them and show them to you (and, for book club posts, to the members of that club) so the app can work. You can download everything, or delete it, whenever you like.

Community rules for book clubs

Book clubs are for friendly conversations about books. We have zero tolerance for:

• harassment, bullying, threats or hate towards anyone;
• sexual content involving minors, of any kind;
• sexual or violent content meant to shock or hurt others;
• anything illegal, including sharing pirated books;
• spam, scams, or pretending to be someone else.

Please report posts that break these rules (use the flag on the post) and block people you don't want to hear from. We review every report, normally within 24 hours, and remove content that breaks the rules. People who break them can lose access to book clubs or to the app.

Books and covers

Book details and covers from the search come from Open Library. They belong to their publishers and authors and are shown to help you recognise your books.

Premium

Some features are marked as premium. While we're testing, they are free. Before anything costs money we'll tell you, and paid features will come with their own clear price and terms.

The fine print

• We work hard to keep the app running and your data safe, but we can't promise it will never have errors or downtime. Keeping your own backup (Settings → Your library data) is a good habit.
• As far as Norwegian law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses from using the app.
• These terms are governed by Norwegian law.
• If we change the terms in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app.
